***Instrumental facility is not meant to be an end in itself, rather a stepping stone to a deeper, broader understanding of what is possible. Oftentimes the accumulation of technique blinds the musician to the higher realities of the medium. Beyond the technique lies a region that is unseen, invisible. Technique, ultimately, should bring one to the point where the instrument and the body become one. The ideal state is for the equipment to become transparent.

***Only when the instrument actually becomes the body, neurologically speaking, can we begin to play the infinite range of universal frequencies. If we might un-tether our imaginations from the limiting tyranny of our five senses with regards to the of physical world, and strive toward original cause, in the future these new tones and frequencies will be capable of rendering living organisms, planets, solar systems and new universes. Alan Guth. The new, redefined musician is faced with entirely new responsibilities.

*** There is a level where a skill is developed and pushed until it becomes a superpower. Superpowers are gifts or talents or loves taken to an elite level, above normal, and beyond. Superpowers are real, the myths are real, but it takes time.
